The EVO-MT® System has been developed by GFS Corporation, an industry leader in the design and manufacture of unique technologies that allow heavy-duty, high horsepower diesel engines used in mine haul trucks to operate on a natural gas / diesel combination.
Building on over a decade of experience in the alternative fuel sector, GFS Corp has adapted proven technologies and concepts into the world’s first, fully integrated Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) conversion solution for large mine haul trucks. The EVO-MT™ System has been designed for the in-field retrofit of existing haul trucks, requires no modification of the engine or chassis structure and maintains OEM specified truck performance. In addition, the EVO MT™ System utilizes state-of-the-art technologies and engineering concepts that ensure both operator and machine safety while operating on LNG.
For the first time, mine operators have the option of replacing a significant portion of their diesel fuel with a cleaner, less expensive and more price stable fuel. Against a back-drop of ever-increasing price volatility of crude oil, the EVO-MT™ System allows energy intensive mine customers to hedge against price fluctuations while realizing significant savings due to the favorable cost spread between diesel fuel and LNG. With a lower carbon to hydrogen ratio (as compared to diesel fuel), natural gas allows for improved engine emissions including decreases in particulate matter, nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides. In addition, by using locally (or regionally) processed LNG in place of imported crude or diesel fuel, mine customers can significantly decrease the overall carbon footprint of their operation (well to wheel) and improve the overall sustainability of their operation.

The GFS EVO LT™ System enables operators of diesel locomotives to substantially reduce operational costs and lower emissions by substituting a large portion of the diesel fuel with lower cost, cleaner burning natural gas.
GFS Corp has had an ongoing research and development plan to apply its extensive knowledge and experience with natural gas / diesel conversions of stationary power generators to the rail industry. Several successful projects have already taken place at various locations around the world using the EMD 645 engines, the GE 7FDL engine as well as the Alco engines. Diesel substitution rates as high as 70% can be accomplished with no loss of engine performance.
